Ginger Hsiao is Co-founder of Synapto Ventures, as well as Chief Investment Officer of Gold Nest Capital, an asset management company with a Capital Market License regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Ginger is the Portfolio Manager of the European Life Sciences Growth Fund, a fund that invests in growth stage life science tools & services and biotechnology companies located in Europe.
As Fund Manager, Ginger oversees the fund-related activities including regulatory, reporting, board representation and investments. Ginger also serves as a Board Observer of numerous life science companies and manages relationships with co-investors, industrial players, scientific KOLs and exit partners.
Ginger is a board member of St Luke's Eldercare, where she currently chairs the Investment Committee and previously served as the Honorary Treasurer. She also serves as an Independent Advisor to the Taiwan Angel Club. She co-founded Ginward, a consultancy company providing fundraising, corporate finance & investments, and business strategy services to corporates and investors in the life science sector.
Prior to her professional journey in venture capital, Ginger had an established career in investment banking, specialising in underwriting, fundraising, and structuring investments and financing proposals for global institutional investors and corporations.
In her capacity as a Managing Director, she held global responsibilities as Head of U.S. Corporates Sales, Head of Asian Structured Finance, and Head of China Corporates for the Capital Markets Division at Credit Lyonnais/Credit Agricole. Ginger advised and structured debt related solutions for LBOs, acquisitions, expansionary and project financing deals for corporations in specialised industries such as Oil & Gas, Shipping, Aircrafts, Real Estate, Hotels, Private Equity and other diversified industries. She led numerous Sole Arranger of rates and currency hedging programs for major Corporations in the US and Hong Kong.
As Vice President at Citigroup's Capital Markets Division in NYC, Ginger originated, structured, underwrote and marketed investment products to global Institutional Investors, concurrently raised fresh capital for global institutions. She was sole Arranger of structured EMTN launches in Europe and Asia for Supra-nationals and other financial institutions.
Ginger began her career at Citigroup in 1990 as a Financial Associate within the Global Corporate Finance Division, NYC.
Ginger graduated from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania as a Mayor Scholar.
