Toshihiro Hyodo (Toshi) is a Venture Partner at Synapto Ventures, where he leads business development activities in Japan including client relationship management and fundraising. Toshi is a distinguished investment professional with a proven track record in private equity investments, particularly within the ESG sector. His hands-on expertise spans comprehensive due diligence, deal syndication, company structuring, and business development, making him a sought-after partner for impactful and profitable ventures.
Toshi is currently Non-executive Director of H3 Dynamics Holdings Pte Ltd, a global leader in developing hydrogen solutions for airports, aircrafts, and drones OEMs, as well as Non-executive Director of Cell ID Pte Ltd, an innovative leader developing and manufacturing Point-Of-Care molecular diagnostics systems.
Toshi was an accomplished investment professional at ACA Investments Pte Ltd, one of Asia's leading fund managers, with extensive expertise in technologies, operations, corporate strategy, and fostering collaborations in global joint ventures. At ACA Investments, he spearheaded investments in high-impact startups spanning Southeast Asia, North America, and India, including H3 Dynamics, and Cell ID. For H3 Dynamics, Toshi significantly secured Series A & B funding and drove strategic partnerships with Japanese companies. With Cell ID, he played a key role in securing Series A funding, served as a strategic advisor to the CEO/CTO, contributing to the optimisation of the R&D roadmap for successful commercialization.
Toshi held senior management roles at Mazda, Japan where he played a key role in leading company-wide business process reform initiatives under the direct supervision of the CEO. His distinguished career within the company brought him to led global IT integration projects for production and distribution systems, collaborating with joint ventures across three continents; created long-term strategy across the Mazda Group through close collaboration with top management globally; and led the development and execution of brands and sales strategies in key markets, by coordinating efforts across international borders.
He began his career as a semiconductor engineer at Ricoh, specializing in memory device development in R&D and quality improvement within the Product Engineering Division.
Toshi holds a B.S. in Naval Architecture from Osaka University, as well as an MBA from INSEAD (France).
